Yes, health, snakes, and rescuing young women, what a title am I right… but that’s exactly what has been going on in my life. If that sounds like a ridiculous amount of stuff… you’re right, it has been a ridiculous amount of stuff in my life and that’s okay because life always comes first. Now, onto the updates, of which there are a ton…
Firstly, let’s look at the health updates I’ve been having going on. I am now a size large, 220 lbs, down from an xxxl and 320 lbs in February of this year, thanks to lifestyle and dietary changes. Almost all of my health issues are under control or have utterly vanished and my health is doing amazingly; all but my ears, eyes, and spine of course. My hearing is covered by hearing aids, my vision is horrific, but I wear glasses to give me 15% vision in one eye, but my spine, up until recently… little has been done.
I underwent both test shots and have officially qualified for radiofrequency nerve ablation on my spine, which will bring me much prayed for pain relief I haven’t seen in decades. I am just waiting for a phone call to set up my appointment for the procedure as I type this in. Once I undergo this procedure, I am certain my pain levels will be lowered to tolerable degrees and I may even regain some of my life and human dignity back.
Snakes, well I should say one snake as of yet, as I received my first snake I have wanted for a very long time as an emotional support animal. Why a snake? Because I can care for a snake myself, even in my condition, with my spine as it is, and I find them both adorable and fascinating, so I finally got one…
…and boy is she spoiled!
My wife and I cannot drive near a pet store without buying her something new!
Inside of that massive 4-foot enclosure that sits right beside me on my ‘L’ shaped desk is my gorgeous bumblebee morph Python regius aka royal python aka ball python, named Abeni Lateef Cook. We purchased her from XYZ Reptiles, who did an amazing job in everything from breeding this baby and getting her to eat frozen-thawed mice, to safely packing and shipping her to me. I love XYZ Reptiles, which is why I added their link above…
…anyway… here is my new little girl…
She is so docile… nearly everyone in my family including my young 9-year-old daughter, and one of my sons who was a bit scared of snakes at first, has held her and loved it!
Now, onto the final bit of news in my life… my son was dating a slightly older girl and while they were online video chatting, we witnessed her being physically abused by her mother (and we have video evidence). We called the police and the mother hid and kept the girl from answering the door, so the next day my wife went to the police who in turn called the girl and decided that the girl wasn’t safe living there… so… since August, 31st… I have had an adopted daughter living with us who is very grateful for us rescuing her from the nightmare she’d endured for so long.
The struggle has not ended, however, as the girl’s evil mother has kept her emotional support cats from her, has tried to keep her anti-seizure medications from her, and has collected welfare and SSI checks for her, while she wasn’t even living there. Plus, the mother has sent, CPS, APS, DHS, Police, and even the SVU to our house because the daughter was a check to her… not a person… to the point that we brought her new shoes because the ones she had were falling apart, while the mother purchased new dogs for herself. Without her leeching off of her daughter’s check, she cannot survive, and now her daughter is her own payee and is learning to budget her own money!
She has stated she is finally happy, even though she and my son had to separate as a condition of her living with us. We are a violence-free household, an emotionally free (where emotions can be expressed freely) household, and we are a free-speech household, without judgments…
So, that has been my life… one huge update I suppose lol
